Preschool-Age 3

As young preschoolers begin to master language and mobility, they discover a whole new world. They begin to interact on a more complex level with their peers, parents, and teachers as well as with their physical environment.

At Brownsville Prep, we encourage students to use their budding skills to solve problems, make choices, and practice self-help skills, all of which empower them with the independence and self-reliance that builds self-esteem. The students are exposed to:

  • Lessons geared to your child’s developmental level

  • Fun activities that boost language and communication skills.

  • Playtime that helps your child grow socially and emotionally

  • Introduction to phonics, writing, and math.

Preschool-Age 3

Preschool/vpk-Age 4

In the preschool years, children begin to develop a  keen understanding of themselves and a heightened awareness of the world around them. It’s the perfect time to nurture budding interests and skills that will last a lifetime. The Brownsville Prep program for preschooler children targets school readiness and the development of critical literacy skills. Children are introduced to specific academic subjects through lively participation in: 

  • Phonics based learning and literary activities Mathematics

  • Discovery Science and Computer

  • Dramatic Play

    Your preschooler will also have opportunities to demonstrate and practice decision-making and self-help skills in a safe, supportive environment. At the end of this year we expect that your child will be a fluent reader.

Kindergarten

Brownsville Prep’s kindergarten curriculum is one of the best you can find-as well as highly convenient for families who need after school care. When you enroll your kindergartner at Brownsville Prep you’ll feel good knowing they’re developing good study habits and a lifetime love of learning. Our elementary curriculum promotes the highest academic standards while encouraging creativity and the development of sound reasoning skills. Our full-day program features:

  • A comprehensive curriculum that includes reading, language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, art, music, and physical fitness

  • Small class sizes with individualized attention

  • Full-day instruction with before-and-after-school care available on site

How To Enroll Your Child Brownsville Prep

Our enrollment process begins at the waitlist. Brownsville has an extensive waitlist, where many begin on the waitlist before the child turns 3. We do continue enrollment year-round at ages 3, 4 (VPK), and 5. Brownsville also partners with The Early Learning Coalition (ELC). The waitlist is a first come first serve, so be sure to sign up quickly! From the waitlist you will be contacted to schedule a tour

Academic Departments

Here is a basic discription of what your child will be learning hear at Brownsville Preparatory institute.

Reading & Writing

From day one we put a strong focus on reading and literacy. Our school boasts a 100% literacy rate. That is also including our 3 year olds

Mathematics

Your child will get a solid introduction into basic and advanced mathematics. Your child will learn addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, fraction and more

Sciences

Science constitutes the backbone of your child’s understanding of natural processes and the world around him. Your child will experiment with basic scientific principals such as gravity, weather, nature, and basic bioligical processes

History

History is one of the most important things that your child will learn with us at Brownsville Preparatory institute. We educate our children on a variety of historical topics. Including our annual black history month celebration. Your child gets to participate and in some cases perform.
